BIZTALK MIGRATION & ENTERPRISE INTEGRATION
Your business has outgrown the way it connects.
Let’s build the integration foundation for its next move.

The experience to understand your past.
The perspective to engineer your future.
01 / CAPABILITIES
Independent guidance. Purposeful engineering. From the first question to the final cutover.
02 / IN OUR DNA
Our founder helped build Microsoft’s BizTalk B2B platform. That perspective travels with every migration we take on.
03 / THE PLAYBOOK
A deliberate transition from what you have to what you need.
Find the dependencies, complexity, and business rules that matter.
Choose the right destination and a sequence that makes sense.
Validate the new environment before the business depends on it.
PLAN THE NEXT MOVE
Different milestones. One considered plan. Know which dates affect your estate, then make room for the work ahead.
Start with discovery. Create time to validate, run in parallel, and transition on your terms.
Identify connections still using SBMP and move them to AMQP. Check retiring Service Bus SDK dependencies, too.
Microsoft guidanceBizTalk Server 2016 reaches the end of extended support. Plan for a supported destination before this milestone.
Microsoft guidanceBizTalk Server 2020 enters extended support. Align the operating system and database with your migration roadmap.
Microsoft guidanceBizTalk Server 2020 reaches its final support milestone. Work backward to allow time for validation and a controlled cutover.
Microsoft guidanceGOOD QUESTIONS. CLEAR ANSWERS.
Azure Service Bus retires SBMP. Connections still using that protocol need to move to AMQP; already-remediated connections are a different case. Check the SB-Messaging adapter and any custom Service Bus clients. Three older Service Bus SDK libraries also retire that day.
BizTalk Server 2020 is the final release. Its mainstream support ends on 11 April 2028, and extended support ends on 9 April 2030. Plan against the dates for your version and its underlying platform; an approaching milestone does not mean every estate has the same immediate risk.
A typical migration takes six to eighteen months. A useful estimate depends on orchestration complexity, partner integrations, custom code, and the quality of the estate inventory. Discovery turns that broad range into a plan for your environment.
Some maps, schemas, and partner configurations can be reused or adapted. Complex orchestrations, correlation patterns, and custom pipeline behavior need closer evaluation. Assess the actual artifacts before committing to a reuse percentage.
Start with your cloud commitments, governance needs, B2B requirements, and the team that will operate the platform. Compare Azure Integration Services with alternatives such as MuleSoft, Boomi, or TIBCO when your requirements justify it. The recommendation should follow the estate.
Use the time to close urgent transport risks, review platform support, document dependencies, and improve day-to-day operations. Managed support can keep the current estate in better shape while you prepare a realistic migration window.
BeyondBizTalk is led by Suren Machiraju, a founding member of Microsoft’s BizTalk B2B team. That background brings practical context to the orchestration patterns and hidden dependencies that affect migration scope.
The introductory conversation and high-level readiness review are free. Detailed discovery is a separate paid, fixed-scope engagement. Agree the scope and deliverables before committing to that work.
